Photographer and maker Tessa Kerr supplies GRC with a wonderful selection of printed kitchen linen and other crafts featuring her fabulous shots of the local area and beyond.
“I was born, raised and lived in and around Todmorden for the first 20 years of my life. In 1990 I took up an offer through a family friend and headed off to the Caribbean for 10 months as a nanny where I ended up spending another 20 years and cementing my love of photography. 28 years on and there has been love, marriage, kids, a career, a second marriage and step children. And through it all, by my side at all times, was a camera. Behind the lens is my happy place. I have now been lucky enough to be able to make the leap from “happy snapper” to professional photographer.
I don’t perceive myself as having a “certain style” yet ( but it is a journey!) and I work in landscapes as well as shooting weddings and portraits. However, now lucky enough to divide my time between the UK and the Cayman Islands, I am most often inspired by the varying landscapes and the wonderful colours and light that make up their natural palette. I can promise you Todmorden and its surrounding areas offer more choice of stunning scenery and colours than Cayman and I am able to relax shooting images the most when here.
I really enjoy the creative process of visualising my pieces as not just prints or canvases but also as other items that are both functionary and that add colour and beauty around the home. My work is proudly displayed in far flung places such as the UK, US, Caribbean, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and all over Europe.”
